The controls are tight and responsive, I disagree that it feels untuned, I think GG has the controls where they want it to be however some people just don't agree with the more provocative fps animation.

This year definitely wasn't without its flops. Games like Too Human, Haze, Alone in the Dark, Need for Speed Undercover, Legendary, SOCOM, Fracture, Banjo Kazooie, The Last Remnant and Lips. My Personal disappointment but not flop was Fable II which just didn't push hard enough.

Dice originally came up with the idea that the female controlled player at the time would be weaponless however could disarm combatants, EA being the publisher had to address there core consumer so they added gun play into the mix, which actually turned out to leave the player with a bitter satisfaction.

Tmac has a point though Xbox had a pretty weak line up this year, Gears of War 2 really shined through however it won't win GOTY. 2009 should look pretty interesting, especially with Sony starting off with a gigantic bang.

Yeah Killzone 2 is a huge project that won't fail, anyone who is in the Beta can already tell you this, awesome awesome game. This is gonna bring some stiff competition to the already cluttered FPS market and mark a very special exclusive.
Microsoft really started the Achievements however I feel Sony has perfected it, Levels, difficulty by trophy category, can be used as actual currency in Home. Trophies have more symbolism than a bunch of numbers and 5 stars.
